Tamara Rubin lives in Portland, Oregon, and is a child health advocate, author, documentary filmmaker, and mother of four sons. She has won multiple national awards for her lead poisoning prevention advocacy work. With the help and support of her readers, she does independent testing of consumer goods for toxicants including lead, mercury, arsenic, cadmium, and antimony. She uses an x-ray fluorescent technology. Her advocacy has been covered in print in the New York Times, the New York Post, Mother Jones, Vice, Truthout, the Huffington Post, and the USA Today. Tamara has been featured on CBS, the Today Show on NBC as well as other popular networks. In 2017, she was a parent advocate who discovered lead in popular fidget spinner toys. She goes by #LeadSafeMama on Twitter, Facebook, and Instagram and has over 2,500 pages of information and consumer goods test results on her blog at LeadSafeMama.com.
